Overview
Visit three cities in three days in this fantastic itinerary, giving you the highlights of Belgium. Start in the charming city of Bruges where you can explore beautifully preserved ancient buildings and meandering canals. Then head to Ghent, one of Belgium’s oldest cities. It is simultaneously cosy and vibrant, with a wealth of medieval and classical architecture.
Finally, visit the capital city Brussels, a lively city that is brimming with history, culture and politics. This itinerary will give you a glimpse of this fascinating city and its political goings-on, let us know if you'd like to include any extra visits from our other Brussels itineraries.

Our Suggested Itinerary

Day 1
Depart school and travel to Bruges.
When you arrive, visit the excellent Choco-Story, where you will be able to see how Belgium’s favourite treat is made.
Then climb to the top of the Belfry – the striking tower stands at 83 metres high and you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the city from the top.
Finish your day with a cruise around Bruges’ famous canals. Sit back and relax as you spot Bruges' sites from a totally different perspective! As medieval buildings pass you by, your knowledgeable guide will provide entertaining and informative commentary!
Arrive and settle into your accommodation.

Day 2
Travel to Ghent, one of Belgium's oldest cities and a true hidden gem in Europe.
First, visit the Castle of the Counts, an imposing building with a military structure. This majestic fortress sits right in the city centre and was a symbol of the Counts’ power in the turbulent city of Ghent.
Then visit the STAM Ghent City Museum which tells the story of the city from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is home to many imaginative collections and interactive exhibits.
Travel to Brussels.

Day 3
Get your bearings and brush up on your local knowledge with an outstanding walking tour of Brussels. You will be able to see the main sites of Brussels such as, Manneken Pis and the Royal Palace of Brussels.
Then discover the history and day-to-day running of the European Parliament at the modern and engaging Parlamentarium. Experience it for yourself with the EP’s “MEP for a Day” Roleplay game, which is specially designed for secondary school students.
Then enjoy some free time in the spectacular Grand-Place, one of the most beautiful medieval squares in Europe. Make sure you try a Belgian waffle before you leave!
Return journey to the UK.
