Overview
Cardiff is a lovely coastal capital city with many interesting and varied visits. This itinerary gives you the opportunity to learn more about the rich heritage of Wales with the chance to visit the medieval castle and the National Museum Cardiff. You will also get a fascinating insight into the workings of the Welsh National Assembly with a tour of The Senedd.
Then have the chance to head to the exciting Scientific Discovery Centre, Techniquest, which will give students the chance to get hands-on with lots of different interactive experiments!
A visit to Cardiff wouldn’t be complete without a tour of the fantastic Principality Stadium, home to the Welsh National Rugby team. Explore the many magnificent features that make this stadium one of the most iconic in the world.
Our Suggested Itinerary

Day 1
Depart School and travel to Cardiff.
Visit Cardiff Castle, whose walls and fairytale towers conceal over 2,000 years of history! With subject areas including the Romans, Normans, Victorians and WW2, there's plenty to keep students interested.
Then head to the National Museum Cardiff, a great museum with something for everyone – dinosaurs, natural history, art and early life in Wales!
Arrive and settle into your accommodation.

Day 2
Start your day with a visit to Techniquest, a unique experience with more than 120 exhibits. It is the perfect place for hands-on scientific investigation!
Then enjoy a boat trip around Cardiff's charming bay area! Learn about the history of Cardiff Bay with a guided commentary.
Afterwards, take a guided tour of The Senedd, the main building of the Welsh National Assembly. The building represents democracy, but also sustainability - it is constructed from Welsh materials including slate and oak.
Optional evening activity: Enjoy a friendly and competitive game of Bowling!

Day 3
Begin your day with a tour of the Principality Stadium and explore the magnificent facets and features that make the stadium one of the most impressive icons of modern Wales.
Then visit St Fagan’s National Museum of History and discover how people lived and worked in Wales in the past by visiting one of St Fagan’s' many original re-erected historic buildings.
Return to School.
