Madrid is home to an undeniable charm running down its busy streets dotted with famous museums, all kinds of shops and green spaces. Trial the local cuisine in markets and cafés, then head to the streets to take in the impressive buildings and architecture. Explore the arts by trying your hand at flamenco then admiring works by Picasso!
You’ll be able to explore buildings in and around the city centre, trial traditional Spanish delicacies, and head to sites of historical importance!

Day 1
Flight from UK to Madrid with coach transfer to accommodation.
Head straight into the city to Plaza Mayor, Madrid’s central square and one of the prettiest open spaces in Spain. Historically home to festivities, bullfights and coronations, today, Plaza Mayor holds turbulent tales and vibrant street life.

Day 2
Today begins with a guided walking tour of Madrid's highlights. With a local guide, you will walk through 1200 years of history down medieval streets to majestic squares.
Next, it is time to practice your Spanish in Madrid’s oldest and most beautiful markets, Mercado de San Miguel. Here, trial a selection of Spanish cuisine specialities from paella to smoked meats and cheeses!
The treats continue at Chocolatería San Ginés where you can enjoy some traditional Spanish churros con chocolate, sure to please!
Cathedral of the Almudena is next on the agenda. As Madrid’s modern and most important cathedral, the interior is even more impressive than the outside!
Grab your castanets and head to the Flamenco Workshop! With your group, you’ll work together to learn one of the most expressive dances!

Day 3
Take a break in Parque del Retiro, a green oasis nestled in the centre of Madrid. In this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you could visit the Palacio de Cristal, el Gran Estanque, or the Palacio Velázquez.
Your next visit is to the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, home to an impressive collection of modernist and surrealist art from a diverse range of artists, including Picasso’s Guernica!
Finish your day on Gran Vía, an important shopping area which features heavily in both society and in media for example, in The Sun Also Rises by Hemmingway.

Day 4
Your final day begins at Palacio Real, the largest palace in Western Europe. Its more than 135,000 square meters and 3,418 rooms have witnessed centuries of Spanish history.
Private coach transfer to the airport and flight back to the UK.
