Overview
If you’re looking to organise a German language trip somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of a capital city, Hamburg is just right.
This diverse and vibrant city has an abundance of visits and attractions for your students to enjoy, offering a truly unique experience for aspiring linguists.
One of the most exciting events in Hamburg is the city’s weekly Fischmarkt. If your trip falls on a Sunday, we’d strongly recommend stopping by. Fish, fruits, flowers, clothing and souvenirs – you can find almost anything at this lively market, and it’s been an institution since 1703!
Our Suggested Itinerary
-
Day 1
Flight to Hamburg.
Free time at the heart of the city, the Jungfernstieg promenade – a diverse connection between the Inner Alster Lake and its surrounding shops and attractions!
Visit Hamburg’s impressive Rathaus - the city’s parliament and senate assemble here!
-
Day 2
Morning cruise around the Port of Hamburg – one of the world's most flexible, high-performance universal ports! Hop aboard a cruise around the port to learn all about its history and trade.
Free time at the port for lunch – we recommend the city’s famous "Fischbrötchen”. The perfect opportunity for your students to practise their German!
Visit Miniatur Wunderland to explore a vast miniature world that goes on and on. The model trains winding their way through the Alps are particularly impressive!
Enjoy a journey of indulgence and enter the world of chocolate at Hamburg's Chocoversum!
-
Day 3
Visit the Hamburger Kunsthalle, one of the largest art museums in Germany. Its superb, permanent collection takes visitors on a journey through seven centuries of art history.
Free time at Planten un Blomen – whether it's the tropical greenhouse or Japanese garden, this large park is a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city.
See animals, birds and insects from all around the globe at Hamburg’s Zoological Museum!
-
Day 4
Travel through time, via Hamburg's Great Fire, floods and the agony of historic torture methods at The Hamburg Dungeon!
Relax in the Hamburger Stadtpark before your return flight to the UK.
