Overview
This Somme Battlefields itinerary is specifically designed to introduce younger children to the First World War. Visits are tailored towards a gentle introduction into the historical background of the war and they enable students to experience the Battlefields in a way that is a bit less intense, but no less educational or memorable!
As well as visiting the battlefields to learn about the lives of soldiers, this trip gives the students a chance to learn about some local trades with a visit to a bakery and chocolate shop! There is also an opportunity to ride on a little train that runs on a line once used by the British army. Now, the journey gives you a great view over the battlefields.
If you would like add more cultural visits, talk to us about combining this itinerary with the Opal Coast!
